Get a cheap fare plane arrive midnight and then.....

I've a got ticket with twice transit from Kota Kinabalu (BKI) to Brunei (BWN) and then to Brisbane (BNE) the to Auckland (AKL) open 1 year ticket 2 way for RM4000.

I personally will use Tripadvisor Flight Search to find the best priced ticket.

I arrived at AKL airport about 3am in the morning. And when me and my girlfriend (now wife) going through the immigration, we are invited to enter the "long wait detention nerve testing detention room". And waited about 8 - 12 hours, I was so tired I forgot what time is it anymore. We are given a sticker so that we can move around in the airport while waiting for the interviewer (translator) check in to work at around 8am 0_0' ..... Then you ask me why need translator? I have the same question for the immigration too, their answer are "When didn't you tell us you can speak English?" And my answer are "Urm, I've been speaking English to all your staff from the minute I arrived". Funny... And we are the last people that are going through the interviewer means we have been waiting for the translator for no purpose while let the interviewer to go through about 20 person before we are interviewed. Till now I still wonder why I was bring into the room with my girlfriend. I have enough money and I have my visa. Is it because I'm from Malaysia? The couple in front of me looks so suspicious they let them through easily.

And because of the detention all hours plans gone haywire. Our backpacker's hostel being cancel cause no show while our credit card are charged accordingly. SO if you are in the detention and having freedom to walk around, call the hostel or hotel you've booked to cancel else your money are wasted.
Free to go around airport ticket from Immigration
This is how you look like after 12 hours flight + 12 hrs detention.
That are the only complain about my whole experience though. Let's move on. For the first  day, I'm living at a friends house. So for the first day it just a day for get myself used to the jetlag. It's four hours earlier in NZ for me it's like not having enough sleep daily. When walking I felt like floating in the air. Just going to walk around in the Manukau area and do a little research where I can buy a car nearby.

For the 2nd day, I went for a shopping for cars. In NZ cars are cheap if you compared to Malaysia or Singapore. I've bought myself a 1994 Toyota Camry 1.8l for 2800NZD that will cost at least RM15k-20k in Malaysia. For the exchange rate that time It is less than RM6000 for a 1994 Toyota Camry 1.8l. I am so happy.

My brand old Camry. (It's a luxury car for Malaysian)

You can get deal from NZ own ebay like trading website. Trademe.co.nz or get a newspaper and google around.

My Working holiday experience

It's been six years since I left New Zealand and ever since I wish to go back one day with my wife. Only until yesterday that I haven't share how to get there and also share the experience to all.

Here is how my story goes. Back in 2008 after 10 years I've been working from 9 to 5 as an IT specialist, getting stuck in the office then after 5 having the traffic jam to home even it is just 2km away. Having office politics is the culprit makes me sick, physically sick I mean. Blood pressure going up day by day. I think I'll might stroke one day if I'm still working in an office.

One day, one of my friend told me there is a agent is helping to get people to NZ for working holiday. That's when I know of Working Holiday Schemes (WHS). By the way, I didn't get the services of the agent and also people that get services from the agent lastly all is rejected when the arrived and wasted of lot of money. Some might lucky though.

It is so easy and can do it online, if you know English of course. Below is the link to the official website by the Immigration of NZ

As I'm a Malaysian I share my experience from My perspective.

What is Working Holiday to begin with. It's easy working while holiday or holiday while working. It is not a permanent working visa or permit. And if your are over 30 years old, sorry you are too late. Start planning your trip few months before January every years as Immigration will start taking applications it may be different so check out the address shared from above. Like this year 2015 only 1150 (visa) available to apply and it is opened on 28 January 2015
